MLA Rupinder Singh Happy Welcomes 'Torch Relay'  of "Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan'' at Chunni Kalan

Rupinder Singh Happy, MLA Bassi Pathana, accorded a rousing welcome to the Torch Relay of the third edition of "Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan", 2024-25, at 

Chunni Kalan. SDM Bassi Pathana and Sanjeev Kumar were also present on this occasion. 

Accompanied by budding players of the various games he said that aiming at transforming Punjab into a leading state in the country in sports as well as to boost the sports culture among the young generation, the endeavor of Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann to start the third edition of "Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan", 2024-25, the Fatehgarh Sahib district is 14th district of the state where the Torch Relay has entered from District SAS Nagar.

On this occasion, MLA Rupinder Singh Happy said that after the success of the last 02 editions of "Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan" now the third edition of these games would be inaugurated on August 29, 2024. "Kheden Watan Punjab Diyan" was a historic step with which the players got a proper opportunity to showcase their talent. He said that no stone would be left unturned for the upliftment of the sports and sports persons.

The MLA said that he was working hard for the construction of a large number of playgrounds and stadiums in his constituency.   He appealed to the players that they should never leave the games in any condition. Whatever help was needed from the government, would be provided.  He assured that the players would not face any problems related to the sports. 

The MLA said that under this edition the block-level games in the district Fatehgarh Sahib would be organised from September 01, 2024, to September 10, 2024, district-level games from September 15, 2024, to September 22, 2024, and the state-level games would held from 11 October 11, 2024, to November 09, 2024. 

On this occasion, S.D.M. Bassi Pathana, and Sanjiv Kumar said that under these games, the state-level competitions of Soft Ball would held at District Fatehgarh Sahib. Preparations for these games were going on in full swing. He said that the registration regarding these games had been started and  people must step forward for it. 

The main purpose of this Torch Relay was to make people aware of sports so that more and more people, especially the youth, would participate in these games. The youth involved in sports would stay away from drugs and other bad habits. Moreover, they could shine in the games with their hard work.

District Sports Officer, Gurdeep Kaur said that the online registration link for these sports is https://eservices.punjab.gov.in.  

These games would be conducted under different categories which include under-14, under-17, under-21, 21 to 40 years open group, 41 to 50 years open group and above 50 years players open group.

District Sports Officer, Gurdeep Kaur, Senior Basketball Coach Rahuldeep Singh and all the officials of the Sports Department appealed to the residents of the district to participate in these games.
