Vocational Training on Preparation of Bakery and Confectionary Products concludes at Krishi Vigyan Kendra
Fatehgarh Sahib, 09 August:
PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib conducted five day training programme on preparation of bakery and confectionary products from 5 to 9 August 2024 in which 40 farmers and farm women participated. Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal Associate Director (Training) Krishi Vigyan Kendra gave details about the training programme and emphasized that such training programmes are the need of the hour. Learning skill and applying it to earn a living and start an enterprise is important to enhance the income of the farmers and to make agriculture more profitable. The trainees were equipped with various
techniques of baking including cakes, chocolates, muffins, cookies, pizza base by Dr. Manisha Bhatia Assistant Professor Home Science. Demonstrations on preparation of these items were given to provide hands-on experience to the trainees in preparing these recipes. The trainees can implement the skills learnt during the training at household level by preparing nutritious and healthy food at their home and ensure that their families are getting quality food.
Trainees were also motivated to start their enterprise using various skills learnt during the training programme. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Principal Extension Scientist (Agricultural Economics), PAU-FASC Patiala gave detailed account of the importance and methods of record keeping in any enterprise. Sh. Puneet Kumar from District Industry Centre appraised the participants about the government schemes for starting an enterprise. He gave detailed account on the type of loan schemes available for already established entrepreneurs.
