76th Republic Day: Full dress rehearsal held, Deputy Commissioner unfurls national flag

Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains to unfurl tricolour in Hoshiarpur on January 26
Hoshiarpur, January 24: Ahead of 76th Republic Day, full dress rehearsal today held here for District Level Republic Day celebrations at Police Lines ground. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal unfurled the national flag.
After unfurling the tricolour, Deputy Commissioner inspected the parade, which included various contingents. SSP Surendra Lamba, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar, and Parade Commander Ghazalpreet Kaur were also present.
The Deputy Commissioner took the salute from contingents comprising the Punjab Police (both men and women), Punjab Home Guards, the 12th Battalion of NCC, Girls guide of the Government Girls Senior Secondary, scouts from the Government Senior Secondary School and band of PRTC Jahan Khelan. Mittal also urged the officials to ensure all requisite preparations for the district-level event. She stated that School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, and Public Relations Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains would unfurl the national flag on January 26.
The Republic Day event will feature tableaux from various departments, including Health, Soil and Water Conservation, Markfed, Education, Punjab Police, Forest, Guru Ravidass Ayurvedic University, Municipal Corporation, District Program Office, Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and DBEE, which would showcase the welfare schemes and achievements of the Punjab government. Additionally, freedom fighters, their family members and individuals recognized for their commendable work in various fields will be honoured by the Chief Guest. The Cabinet Minister will also distribute motor tricycles and sewing machines to those in need.
During the full dress rehearsal, a mass PT show by students from various schools was presented, along with cultural performances emphasizing patriotism. Members of the Miri Piri Gatka Club, Garna Sahib also performed Gatka. The full dress rehearsal was concluded with national anthem.
