Hoshiarpur, 21 October: Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Lamba on Monday said that the police had constituted its four teams to arrest the accused indulged in the murder of father-son duo late last evening in the area falling under Bullowal police station. He said that the accused have also been identified. 

While visiting and taking stock of the crime scene from the location of double murder, the SSP Surendra Lamba said the teams are carrying out searches and conducting raids at different locations. He said that the accused would be in police net soon.

Giving further information about the incident, the SSP said the prima facie investigation revealed that that the root cause of the murder was an old enmity between the both groups. He mentioned that he personally and SP (D) are constantly supervising the ongoing investigation, so that the accused can be arrested at earliest. He said soon after the matter came to light, police teams rushed the spot. He informed that a father-son duo were killed in the incident due to bullet injuries, while two children sustained minor injuries.

“In the preliminary investigation, it came to fore that suspected accused and complainant of FIR (brother and son of deceased) had old enmity and cross FIRs were registered against them,” said the SSP adding that the district police is conducting raids for the arrest of the accused as the murder case has been registered against them on the statement of the victims. He said that during the preliminary investigation no angle of attacked due to passing drugs information etc came to fore and however thorough investigation would be carried out and further details will be shared once the accused are arrested.
