Deputy commissioner takes review of ongoing preparations and arrangements
Hoshiarpur, January 15
Punjab education, higher education and public relations minister Harjot Singh Bains will unfurl the tricolour at local police lines ground during district level Republic Day function to be held on January 26.
Stating this, Deputy commisioner Komal Mittal today held a review meeting with the officers concerned to take stock of ongoing preparations and arrangements for the function. She emphasised that all necessary arrangements including security, beautification and cleanliness should be accomplished well before the stipulated time so that the smooth and successful conduct of this mega event could be ensured. She also asked the nodal officers to get tableaus, cultural and folk events including students activities prepared as per the finalised schedule.
In wake of cold waves, deputy commissioner also pointed out that the requisite arrangements should be put in place for the facilitation of the school students and other contingents taking part in the parade especially during the rehearsal days. She said that the full dress rehearsal will be carried out on January 24 while the main event will be held on January 26 with patriotic fervour and full enthusiasm.
The deputy commissioner also directed the officials to get their duty passes made before the given time as well as sending recommendations to the deputy commisioner office for honouring employees against the remarkable duties and contribution in the social welfare.
Additional deputy commissioner Rahul Chaba, SDM Sanjeev Sharma and other officers were also present in the meeting.
