Emphasizes strict compliance of guidelines by educational institutions
Jalandhar, November 18: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed the formation of committees at the tehsil and district levels to address the grievances of students regarding the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme. The directives were issued during a meeting with representatives of student organizations and educational institutions at the District Administrative Complex.
Dr. Aggarwal assured students that their concerns would be resolved promptly and that the issues faced by educational institutions would also be addressed at appropriate levels. Stressing strict adherence to the scheme's guidelines, he warned that any violation would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed educational institutions to ensure complete compliance with the scheme's guidelines and directed the District Social Justice and Empowerment Department to form committees for investigating grievances and ensuring seamless implementation of the scholarship scheme. He emphasized the importance of providing detailed knowledge of the scheme to staff members interacting directly with students, enabling them to assist students in availing of the scheme benefits without any difficulty.
Dr. Aggarwal reiterated that the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme is the right of Scheduled Caste (SC) students and urged institutions to ensure that all eligible students complete their courses without hurdles.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed timely application of Free-Ship Cards to maximize the scheme's reach. During the meeting ADC (Urban Development) Jasbir Singh, SDMs Randeep Singh and Balbir Raj Singh, District Social Justice Officer Rajinder Singh, and representatives of student organizations were present.
