Mansa district secure first position in state in last paddy procurement

By performing paramount performance in the last paddy procurement season, Mansa district stood first in the state.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Paramveer Singh has congratulated the farmers, labourers, artiyaas , officials of the food supply department and other concerned on receiving the award to Mansa district.
Speaking on a function organized at Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh, he said that the Cabinet Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak honoured the districts for showing the best performance during the paddy procurement season 2023-24 where Mansa district has got the first place. Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies Department Mr. Gurkirat Kirpal Singh was also present on this occasion.
He said that during the paddy procurement season, the district administration had made adequate arrangements for the farmers at the markets so that the farmers would not face any problem.
He said that on the instructions of the Punjab government, lifting and payment of farmers' crops were ensured in a timely. Deputy Commissioner said that during the paddy procurement season 2023-24, a total of 8,58,735 metric tons of paddy was purchased from 70,916 farmers of the district and payment of Rs 1892 crores was also made to the farmers within the stipulated time.
While receiving the award from Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, District Food and Supply Controller Mr. Mandeep Mann said that under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mansa Mr. Paramveer Singh, the procurement process of paddy in the district has been successfully carried out.
