Agriculture Department Conducts Stock Inspection of Fertilizer Dealers
Nabha, November 4:
To ensure an uninterrupted supply of fertilizers for wheat sowing and other crops during the ongoing Rabi season, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department is continuously inspecting the stocks of fertilizer dealers. This is being done to prevent hoarding, overpricing, and unauthorized sale of other goods with fertilizers.
Providing details, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh stated that Agricultural Officer Nabha, Jupinder Singh, and Agricultural Development Officer Jaspreet Singh have conducted inspections of fertilizer stocks at various stores in the Nabha Block, including New Nabha Fertilizer Store, Bansal Agro Service Nabha, J.K. Fertilizer Store Nabha, Sai Fertilizer Store, Sai Trading Company Nabha, M.S. Gupta Agro, Pal Fertilizer Store, Kamal Agro Chemicals, New Kisan Agro, and Okar Pesticides, Nabha.
He further mentioned that any fertilizer dealer refusing to provide DAP fertilizer to farmers, tagging other products with DAP fertilizer, or selling fertilizer above the controlled price will have their license immediately revoked. Additionally, legal action under the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 will be enforced against such dealers.
Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh urged farmers to use fertilizers based on the specific needs of their soil. He advised farmers to get their soil tested and use fertilizers accordingly, focusing only on the nutrients required by their soil. He highlighted that often farmers apply excessive fertilizers just by observing others, which leads to unnecessary financial losses.
