Agriculture Department Inspects Fertilizer Dealers' Stock
Patiala, November 6:
- To ensure an uninterrupted supply of fertilizers for wheat and other crop sowing in Patiala district, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare is conducting continuous inspections of fertilizer dealers' stock.
- Agriculture Development Officer Amanpreet Singh Sandhu inspected the stock of fertilizer dealers in Patran and Ghagga. He reported that department officials checked the stocks at several outlets, including New Satkar Farming Center Patran, Bharat Agro Chemicals Patran, Nagra Fertilizer Store Patran, Zimindara Agriculture Store Patran, Goel Agriculture Store Patran, Dasmesh Fertilizer & Pesticides Patran, Ganesh Trading Company Ghagga, and Sharda Agro Chemicals Ghagga.
- He further stated that if any fertilizer dealer denies availability of DAP fertilizer, tags products along with DAP, or sells fertilizers at prices above the controlled rate, their license will be immediately revoked, and legal action will be taken under the Fertilizer Control Order, 1985.
- Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh directed fertilizer dealers in the district to maintain complete records of their stock. He added that if any dealer's stock does not match the recorded data, necessary action will be taken. He also appealed to farmers to always obtain a proper invoice when purchasing fertilizers or any agricultural supplies, so that they have complete purchase records and can take action against the dealer in case of any defects in the products.
