- Patiala Holds Special Camp for Swift Resolution of Public Grievances
Patiala, March 20:
- A special camp was organized today at the DAC Patiala, led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, to address second appeals of complaints submitted through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS). Chief Minister's Field Officer, Dr. Navjot Sharma, was also present to oversee the proceedings.
Dr. Preeti Yadav addressed cases from various departments across Patiala district and underscored the importance of timely and effective grievance resolution. She explained that grievances first reach the respective departments through the PGRS. If the complainant is dissatisfied with the response, a first appeal can be filed, which is reviewed by senior officers. If the issue remains unresolved, it is then taken up by the Deputy Commissioner.
- Emphasizing proactive resolution, Dr. Yadav personally heard cases during the camp and directed the concerned departments to address the issues promptly. She also warned that any negligence in handling complaints would result in strict action against the responsible officials.
- Dr. Navjot Sharma, Chief Minister's Field Officer, shared that 28 second appeal cases were addressed in today's camp. In a similar camp held on February 28, a total of 205 second appeal cases were heard.
- Citizens attending the camp appreciated the Punjab Government's initiative, acknowledging that the PGRS has facilitated the timely and effective resolution of complex issues. Many noted that the Deputy Commissioner's direct involvement has significantly strengthened the grievance redressal process.
- Grievances heard today were related to the Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Revenue Department, Local Governments, PSPCL, Transport Department, Police, and PUDA.
