NABARD sponsored first batch of 10 days Training Programme on Dairy farming & Milk Processing commences

The 10 days training programme under Livelihood Enterprise Development Program (LEDP) on Dairy Farming & Milk Processing for the SHG/JLG members is commenced at village: Salana Jeon Singh Wala of Fatehgarh Sahib district. Total 30 SHG/ JLG members will attend the 10-days training programme. The Livelihood & Enterprise Development Program (LEDP) is sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) and will be organized by Ludhiana based Skill Upgradation Training Services (SUTS).
Sh. Sanjeev Kumar, AGM, NABARD Cluster Office, Ludhiana inaugurated the training programme at the village. While addressing the participants, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar said, NABARD has been continuously supporting SHG members in setting up and managing successful enterprises for income generation and livelihood, through implementation of various rural development schemes like Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO), Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) etc. He also said that demonstration unit cum production centre will also set up in the village under the scheme. Sh. Davinder Kumar, Cluster Head, conveyed that the training program will focus on increasing income and improvement in production and productivity through adoption of new and innovative technologies and will open new market linkage avenues in Milk Processing for the participants, leading to increase or improved their income earnings.
Giving details, H. S. Bhatia, CEO & Principal, SUTS, said that the farmers will apprised of potential of milk products in the region, need & importance of milk processing, practical sessions on milk products. Besides, interactive sessions on organic farming, veterinary health practices like vaccination, diseases, banking & agri-based allied activities will also be conducted by the technical experts during the training programme and Dr. Darshan Singh Cheema will be the key resource person. Slam Din, Branch Manager, Karamjit Singh, ex-chairman, milkfed, Punjab and prominent dairy farmers- Ram Singh & Binder Singh were also present during the inaugural session.
