Vocational Training on Preparation of Cleaning Agents concludes at PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib

PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Fatehgarh Sahib conducted training programme on preparation of cleaning agents from 9 to 16 July 2024. Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal Associate Director (Training) Krishi Vigyan Kendra gave details about the training programme and emphasized that such training programmes are the need of the hour. Learning skill and applying it to earn a living and start an enterprise is important to enhance the income of the families. The trainees were equipped with various techniques of preparing cleaning agents including detergent, dish washer, handmade soaps, floor cleaner, soap using natural ingredients by Dr. Manisha Bhatia Assistant Professor Home Science.

Demonstrations on preparation of these items were given to provide hands-on experience to the trainees in preparing these recipes. The trainees can implement the skills learnt during the training at household level by preparing these materials at their home and ensure that environmental friendly materials are used in household cleaning. Lectures were also delivered on packaging, marketing and branding of the cleaning agents. Trainees were also motivated to start their enterprise using various skills learnt during the training programme. The trainees were apprised of the government schemes available for setting up small scale unit by Ms. Jagdeep Kaur from District Industries Centre, Mandi Gobindgarh.
