Local Government Minister unveils enrolment drive in district

Government schools equip with all requisite facilities, urges people to enrol children in Govt Schools
Hoshiarpur, March 20: Launching the admission drive in government schools started by the School Education Department of the Punjab Government from Government Elementary School, Bagpur here today, Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has brought an education and health revolution in the state during the last three years, under which there has been a large-scale development in educational and health institutions.
The Cabinet Minister said that in the last few months alone, the government has provided funds of more than Rs 40 crore for the rejuvenation of government schools of the district, which will see development of schools in all aspects in the coming time.
Calling for educating children in government schools, Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government schools of the state have been made equal to the present day and world-class infrastructure has been established. He said that the purpose of the admission campaign is to make the children aware of all the facilities available in government schools and get them admitted to these schools. He said that due to the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the teachers of government schools have been trained in countries like Singapore and Finland, which will be extremely beneficial for the teachers and students.
Flagging off the awareness van under the admission campaign, Dr. Ravjot Singh said that under the admission campaign that started today in the district, teachers, students and staff of various schools will be made aware about admissions in their respective areas. He said that the funds of more than Rs 40 crore released for the rejuvenation of schools in the district include building school boundary walls, repairs, construction of classrooms, further strengthening of the infrastructure of School of Happiness, School of Eminence and other schools. Dr. Ravjot Singh also started the distribution of uniforms to be given to the students by the school along with District Education Officer (S) Lalita Arora, Deputy DEOs Dheeraj Vashisht and Sukhwinder Singh, Sarpanch of village Bagpur Gurpreet Kaur, former Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh and school staff. Students of Government College Hoshiarpur and Government School Bagpur presented various items related to the admission drive. The Cabinet Minister also honored the personalities and officials present.
