Jalandhar, March 18:
MP (Rajya Sabha Member) and Cricketer Harbhajan Singh donated three ambulances today from his MP-LAD fund to the Civil Surgeon Office and the District Red Cross Society. These ambulances will be used for transporting patients in the district, thus ensuring their timely treatment and safe transportation.
In addition, considering the needs of people with disabilities, MP Harbhajan Singh also donated five battery-operated wheelchairs to the District Red Cross Society. These wheelchairs will help people with disabilities move around more easily.
The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar, Himanshu Aggarwal, was also present on this occasion.
While flagging off the ambulances, Harbhajan Singh stated that two of the ambulances have been given to the Civil Surgeon Office, while one has been handed over to the District Red Cross Society. He mentioned that these ambulances will play a vital role in ensuring the prompt and safe transportation of patients to hospitals.
Assuring further support in the future, he declared that he is always ready to serve the people of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal expressed gratitude to MP Harbhajan Singh for this initiative. He emphasized that ambulances can help save human lives by transporting them to hospitals in time. He also directed the Secretary of the District Red Cross Society to ensure that the wheelchairs are promptly delivered to the beneficiaries.
Notably, Jagdish from Mohalla Saran Nakodar, Sukhjit Kaur from village Malowal, Jasvir Singh from Basti Bawa Khel Jalandhar, Amrik Singh from village Sindhar and Yadvinder Singh from village Kang Kalan will benefit from these wheelchairs.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurmeel Lal, District Program Officer-cum-Secretary District Red Cross Society, Manjinder Singh, and others were also present.
