ਬਠਿੰਡਾ, 11 ਮਾਰਚ - ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਦੀ ਮੁਰਮੂ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਚੰਦ ਕਟਾਰੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁੱਡੀਆਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪੜਾਅ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਚਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸੁਕਤਾ, ਮੌਲਿਕਤਾ, ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ, ਦੂਰਅੰਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਜਤਾ ਆਦਿ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਤਸੁਕਤਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਤਸੁਕ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਵਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੌਲਿਕਤਾ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਪਛਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਇੱਕ ਅਰਥਪੂਰਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਹੈ।
ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਫਲ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਚੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਲਾਭ 'ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਯੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਾਈ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ 'ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਹਿਜਤਾ ਇੱਕ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਗੁਣ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਹਨ। ਘਮੰਡ ਜਾਂ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣਾ ਇਸਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕਸਾਰਤਾ ਸਹਿਜਤਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਵੀ ਸਹਿਜਤਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸਦਾ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਰਬ-ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧਤਾ ਇਸ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਜੀਵੰਤ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਦੀ ਮੁਰਮੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ 'ਤੇ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਚੰਦ ਕਟਾਰੀਆ, ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁੱਡੀਆਂ, ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਬੋ ਤੇ ਚੀਫ਼ ਵਿਪ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਬਲਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੇ ਮੇਅਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਪਦਮਜੀਤ ਮਹਿਤਾ, ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨਲ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰਾੜ, ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ੌਕਤ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਪਰੇ, ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਡੀ.ਜੀ.ਪੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਜੈਨ, ਏਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਐੱਸਪੀਐੱਸ ਪਰਮਾਰ, ਡੀ.ਆਈ.ਜੀ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਰੇਂਜ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਐੱਸਐੱਸਪੀ ਮੈਡਮ ਅਮਨੀਤ ਕੌਂਡਲ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸੈਂਟਰਲ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਘੁੱਦਾ ਦੇ ਵਾਇਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਾਘਵੇਂਦਰ ਪੀ. ਤਿਵਾੜੀ, ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਖਸ਼ੀਅਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਦਿ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।

PRESIDENT OF INDIA GRACES CONVOCATION CEREMONY OF CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF PUNJAB
Bathinda, 11 March - The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu graced the convocation ceremony of Central University of Punjab at Bathinda today (March 11, 2025).
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that the convocation ceremony is an occasion of the completion of one phase in the students' lives and the beginning of another. She expressed confidence that all the students, through their conduct and contribution, would bring glory to this university, their families and the country.
The President advised students to make five good things a part of their life. These are curiosity, originality, morality, farsightedness, and spontaneity.
The President said that curiosity keeps a person eager to gain new information. Curious people keep learning new things throughout their lives. She stated that after understanding any subject properly, one should try to do something new in that subject or any other field. Originality gives a unique identity. She told students that morality is the foundation of a meaningful life. Being a good person is more important than being a successful person. She told them that whatever opportunities they choose in their personal life or work should not be based on immediate gain but on the possibility of using their abilities and interests in a lasting way. She added that spontaneity is a valuable quality. It has many dimensions. Avoiding pomposity or show-off is one dimension of it. Consistency in words and actions is another dimension of spontaneity. Staying connected to one's roots is also a very important dimension of spontaneity.
The President was happy to note that students from almost all states and union territories are studying in the Central University of Punjab. She noted that its teaching community also reflects India's diversity. She said that this all-India representation is a commendable feature of this University. Such institutions are representative of the vibrant culture of our country.
Earlier Smt Droupadi Murmu Hon'ble President of India was received at the Bhisiana Airport by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Hon'ble Governor Punjab alongwith Shri Gurmeet Singh Khudian Cabinet Minister Punjab, MLA Talwandi Sabo and Chief Whip Prof Baljinder Kaur, Mayor Municipal Corporation Bathinda Shri Padamjeet Mehta. Senior officers Shri Manjeet Brar, Divisional Commissioner Faridkot, Shri Showkat Ahmed Parray, Deputy Commissioner Bathinda, Special DGP Shri Jatinder Jain, ADGP SPS Parmar, DIG Bathinda Range Shri Harjit Singh and SSP Bathinda Madam Amneet Kondal also accorded cordial welcome to the Hon'ble President of India.
