responsibility of the Center
*State government is standing with its farmers and farm unions
Amloh/Fatehgarh Sahib, October 22
"When the country was facing a severe shortage of the food grains, then Punjab had worked and fulfilled the demand of the nation, but now the center has sidelined the contribution of the state and moreover adopted the way of discrimination with Punjab by not lifting the grains from the godowns of the state."
This was stated by Tarunpeeet Singh Sond, Cabinet Minister, Punjab, after inspecting the Mega Parent Teachers meeting at the School of Eminence, Amloh. The cabinet minister said that the center government was aware of the upcoming paddy season, but special trains were not allotted to the state for the lifting of the grains, which has resulted in the problems being faced by each and every person who is related to the paddy season.
Mr. Sond divulged that the state government was continuously writing the letters to the center government in this regard. Even Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister, Punjab, also visited Delhi for the meeting with the central ministers, yet the deadlock is there.
The cabinet minister said that all the demands of the farmers and the commission agents that were related to the state government have been already resolved.
He said, "Farmers have been continuously struggling for their demands for many years, but on the other hand, the center has adopted the way of repression towards them. The state government is standing with its farmers and farm unions, and no stone will be left unturned to solve their problems."
On this occasion MLA Amloh Gurinder Singh Garry Warring, ADC Gitika Singh, ADC (D) Surinder Singh Dhaliwal, SDM Manjit Singh Rajla, OSD to Education Minister Gulshan Chhabra, Principal Iqbal Singh were also present.
