Deputy Commissioner forms panel to take up development projects

Concerted efforts to be made for ensuring smooth traffic flow across district

Hoshiarpur, March 12: Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain has constituted a panel of officials to review the status, progress of ongoing and upcoming development projects in the district on regular basis.

 Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, while giving details in this regard, said that various state and centre sponsored development works were going on in the district and several in pipeline, for which a panel had been put in place so that these projects could be started on time and accomplished within a given timeline,

Deputy Commissioner said that the major projects mainly include the development works related to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Railways and various other departments of the State  Government. She said the Additional Deputy Commissioner will lead the panel and  concerned SDMs, Municipal Commissioner and officers of the line  departments would also its part. The panel will ensure the progress and follow-up of the development works in their respective areas.

Deputy Commissioner said that smooth traffic management in the district was one of the foremost priorities of the administration and the panel will finalize the blueprint for smooth traffic by coordinating with all the stakeholders.

Jain also added that the panel will chalk out  meticulous planning of traffic movement at several crossings on Talwara-Mukherian railway line, besides making blueprint for the hassle free vehicular movement at the railway crossings across the district. She said the the Administration had already taken up the matter of widening of the Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar road so that this particular project could also be initiated at the earliest in larger public interest,

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the development works related to improving basic road network infrastructure in Tanda area, Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar Road and Hoshiarpur-Una Road are already in progress. She added that the panel will review development of these projects from time to time.
