Gurvinder Singh Pabla assumes charge as chairman of improvement trust

Appointed by Punjab government few days back, Gurvinder Singh Pabla on Wednesday took over as  chairman of Hoshiarpur improvement trust, here, in the presence of local government minister Dr Ravjot Singh.
In a simple ceremony, Gurvinder Singh Pabla after assuming the charge said that he would serve his responsibility with utmost dedication and sincerity so as to fulfil the aspirations of people from the trust. He said he would also make all out efforts to further bolster the trust of people in the improvement trust. Pabla also reiterated that as per the commitment of chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the people would get all the requisite services well in time and in efficacious manner.
Accompanied by MLAs including Bram Shanker Jimpa, Jasvir Singh Raja Gill and Advocate Karambir Singh Ghuman, the local government minister Dr Ravjot Singh while congratulating the chairman said that the Punjab government was ensuring holistic development in all sectors across the state. He said that in the last three years, unprecedented strides were taken for the overall development.
The minister said that the local government department had streamlined the sewerage and water supply projects including enhancing the sewerage capacity to 2634.15 MLD from 2142MLD. He said that 730 machines at a cost of Rs 39.55 crore were being procured to further ensure excellent cleaning of sewerage system in the state. As many as 52 sewerage treatment plants, costing Rs 650 crore, are under construction which will be accomplished by next one and half years.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included BACKFINCO chairman Sandeep Saini, district planning committee’s chairperson Karamjit Kaur, vice-chairman Harminder Singh Bakshi, Gau Sewa Commission’s Jaspal Singh Chechi and others.
