All arrangements put in place at Lajwanti Stadium for swearing in ceremony of 9314 elected representatives : Deputy Commissioner
Hoshiarpur, December 2: In view of swearing in ceremony function on Tuesday for newly elected panches and sarpanches, the district administration has made all requisite arrangements at local Lajwanti Stadium, near Tanda Byepass.
As many as 9314 sarpanches and panches of 1403 panchayats will take oath for which extensive arrangements have been put in place.
Giving details, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that the Local Government and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh will be the chief guest while the Member Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLAs will also join the function. She said that the sitting area had been divided into different blocks so that the elected representatives could sit as per the designated place.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also took a round of the function site to take stock of the preparations and arrangements. She directed the officials concerned to ensure foolproof security and other arrangements so that smooth conduct of this mega event could be done. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar and other officials of various departments were also present.
