Harbhajan Singh lays foundation stone for the special repair of Ratia to Sardulgarh roads

Punjab government led Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is making every possible effort to strengthen the roads of network of Punjab to prevent road accidents and facilitate traffic.
Disclosing this here today Public Works and Power Minister, Punjab Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that about 33 km of roads from Sardulgarh Mansa to Talwandi Sabo upto block limit via Jatana Kalan, Kusla, Rodi to Sardulewala and Ratia to Sardulgarh have been constructed.
Cabinet Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh said that roads, which were being restored at a cost of Rs. 25 crores, were very old and required immediate repair. Considering the demand of the people of the area, the foundation stone for the restoration of these roads of Sardulgarh constituency has been laid.
He said that the total length of Jatana Kalan, Kusla Road is 19.51 km, the special repair work is being done by the Building and Road Branch of Public Works Department, at a cost of 722.68 lakh rupees. This road passes through Mansa-Sardulgarh-Sirsa road and connects to Takht Shri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo through Jatana Kalan, Kusla, Jagatgarh Badar and Jodki. This road is very important for the people of adjacent villages.
While laying the foundation stone of the special repair work of Rori to Sardulewala road, he said that the total length of this road is 4.40 km, the special repair work should be done at a cost of 544.77 lakh rupees. This road connects Sardulewala to Rory Haryana border.
While laying the foundation stone of the special repair work of Ratia to Sardulgarh road, he said that the total length of this road is 9.30 km, the special repair work is being done at a cost of 1287.39 lakh rupees. This road passes through village Koriwala, Ahlupur to the Haryana border and further to the national capital New Delhi.
He said that the work of road safety will also be done on these roads for the safety of the passers-by. A provision of 5 years maintenance of the road has also been made in this road work. Along with this, contractors will ensure usage of good quality materials for road construction, they will also undertake the responsibility of maintaining the roads for 5 years.
Talking about the prevention of road accidents, the Cabinet Minister said that a road safety force is being started in Punjab very soon to prevent road accidents. This force will be deployed along with vehicles in every 30 km area. He said that Punjab government is trying to fix the accident sites, the road safety force will help in saving the precious lives of the people.
On this occasion, the people of the local area thanked the Cabinet Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh for fulfilling their long pending demands regarding renovation of these roads.
Earlier, the Punjab Police were given guard of honour to Cabinet Minister. On this occasion Constituency MLA Sardulgarh Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bananwali, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Paramveer Singh, S.S.P. Dr. Nanak Singh and SDM Sardulgarh Mr. Amarinder Singh Malli were also present.
