Arrival of paddy in Grain Markets start, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain reviews arrangements
Rupnagar, October 3: Kharif season 2024-25 has started in the state of Punjab from October 1 and arrival of paddy has started in the markets of Rupnagar district as well. An important meeting was held today under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Mr. Himanshu Jain to review the arrangements for the season.
Sub Divisional Magistrates, District Controller Food Supplies, District Managers of Procurement Agencies, President and members of Rice Sheller Association also present in meeting.
While presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner said that adequate arrangements have been made for the purchase of paddy in all markets of district and the farmers will be paid immediately after purchasing of their crops.
He said that to prevent the sale of paddy from outside states in the district markets, the district administration has set up inter-state checkpoints and the process of checking vehicles through flying squads has also been initiated on war footing.
On this occasion, he also appealed to the farmer to bring dry the crop in the market so that the crop can be purchased on time and the farmers can get the payment of their crop without any delay.
While addressing issues of Rice Sheller Association, he assured all rice millers present in the meeting that all District Managers and FCI will hold the meeting to resolve the problems of the millers. A meeting will be held in every month so that they do not face any problem for payments and remaining issues will also be sorted out on priority.
