MD, Sugarfed Senu Duggal issues instructions to run sugarcane slips as per QR Code
Morinda, December 18: MD, Sugarfed, Punjab Dr. Senu Duggal on Wednesday conducted surprise checking of Cooperative Sugar Mill, Morinda and issued instructions to run sugarcane slips, as per QR code with the aim of facilitating the farmers.
On this occasion, he held a high-level meeting with the mill officials and said that about 25,000 farmers of the state are associated with cooperative sugar mills, keeping in mind that there should be no stagnation in the mills at any level and the waiting period in the sugarcane yard should be followed regularly.
MD said that Chief Minister Punjab Mrs. Bhagwant Singh Mann has issued instructions to produce the high quality of sugar and it should be maintained properly.
Referring to the crushing season 2024-25, Dr. Senu Duggal said that a target of 257 lakh quintals of sugarcane has been set for crushing by all cooperative sugar mills of the state. However, 19.57 lakh quintals of sugarcane have been crushed by the cooperative sugar mills so far.
MD visited the factory and inspected the machinery and crushing operation and instructed all the officers to make every possible effort to run the mill efficiently and effectively so that the targets set for capacity utilization, sugar recovery, sugarcane crushing and sugar production could be achieved.
After this, she also addressed the issues of the sugarcane farmers in the yard and instructed that adequate arrangements should be made in the farmers' waiting area, canteen and payment should be ensured to the sugarcane farmers as soon as possible.
She appealed to the sugarcane farmers to bring clean and unblemished sugarcane to the mill so that maximum recovery could be achieved.
On this occasion, General Manager Arvinder Pal Singh Kairon, Chief Engineer Jasvir Singh, Chief Chemist Mritunje Singh, Chief Account Officer V.B Singh, Chief Sugarcane Development Officer, Jaswant Singh, Sugar Cell Incharge Ukar Singh, Superintendent Sushil Kumar, Lab Incharge Chitarkar Singh and other officers were present.
