Successful Auction of Scrap Vehicles Conducted at Police Station Dhakoli
SAS Nagar, February 20, 2025:
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Police Station Dhakoli conducted a successful auction of scrap vehicles that had been lying unidentified for a long time.
The auction was arranged after obtaining necessary approvals from the Judiciary and a committee comprising members, including Smt. Jyoti Yadav IPS (Chairperson), Sub Division DSP Zirakpur, Motor Vehicle Officer (ARTO) and Motor Transport Officer.
Under the supervision of DSP Preet Kanwar Singh, SHO Dhakoli, the auction featured 43 vehicles, including motorcycles, scooties, and autos. The auction attracted 31 bidders, who actively participated in the bidding process.
SP Jyoti Yadav saso that the reserve price for the entire lot was set at ₹1,19,000, but the auction concluded with a final bidding amount of ₹5,60,000. This significant revenue will contribute to the treasury of the Punjab Government, she added.
She further said that this successful auction demonstrates the commitment of the Dhakoli Police to efficiently manage and dispose of unclaimed vehicles, while also generating revenue for the state. The auction event's success is a testament to the effective collaboration between the police department, judiciary, and other stakeholders, she added.
