Punjab Finance and Planning Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan was fully committed to provide the best health services to the patients in all the government health institutions of the state. The cabinet minister was accompanied by MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, actor Karamjit Anmol and civil surgeon Dr. Kirpal Singh here at Civil Hospital Sangrur for the inauguration ceremony of a new state-of-the-art dialysis machine unit at the emergency ward. The minister said that the installation of this state-of-the-art machine unit will provide great relief to the patients coming for dialysis as the waiting list would be ended.
Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that this was the fifth dialysis machine installed at the hospital and from now onwards the dialysis facility would be given in two shifts, from 8 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 8 pm. The minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been taken a revolutionary step from January 26 this year by giving free medicines to patients in all government hospitals of the state that has brought great relief to the citizens. He said that after this relief of the Punjab government, the number of patients availing OPD services at Civil Hospital Sangrur has been increasing more than the previous years. He added that this figure has increased rapidly in the last 18 days, due to which the number of OPD slip counters has been increased from 1 to 4 for the ease of patients. He also said that two new slip counters will also be opened at this hospital soon for the convenience of female patients.
Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the stroke unit established at Civil Hospital Sangrur was also proving to be a boon for the paralyzed patients and due to free and quality treatment facilities, the unit was at the first position as compared to other four such stroke units in the state.
On this occasion, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj expressed special gratitude to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and said that she himself kept reviewing the performance of hospitals and other requirements from time to time. She said that 19 private ultrasound centers and 20 X-ray centers have been empanelled in district Sangrur from where patients can get these facilities at the government rate.
On this occasion, actor Karamjit Anmol also appreciated the efforts of the Punjab government. He said that this was a great example of public service which would benefit the needy.
On this occasion, Finance Minister's OSD Advocate Tapinder Singh Sohi, Chairman Punjab Infotech Guninderjit Singh Minku Jawandha, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Vikas Dhir, Gulzar Singh Bobby, Charanjit Singh Channi, Shakti Singh among several other dignitaries were also present.
