Prompt action being taken to protect people from deadly diseases during the severe flood situation - Health Minister
Mansa, July 16:
Punjab government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Maan is continuously organizing medical camps in the affected areas of the state with the support of government and non-government organizations to protect the people from deadly diseases during the severe flood conditions. These views were expressed by Health and Medical Education Dr. Balbir Singh during a meeting held with officials of the District Administration, IMA, Chemist Association at the local Bachat Bhawan.
Presiding over the meeting Health Minister appealed to the Indian Medical Association that your medical staff should be deployed in the flood-affected areas with ambulances along with medicine. He said that and free medicines are also being provided to the patients at medical camps and there is need to enhance more such services in flood affected area.
Replying to health Minister, President of Indian Medical Association Mansa Dr. Janak Raj Singla said that 1 ambulance has been provided to the Health Department and Rs. 51 thousand has been sent to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the flood victims. Apart from this, a list of 13 private hospitals will be sent to Civil Surgeon Mansa where free treatment will be provided to flood affected people.
Health Minister expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rishipal Singh and the MLAs for the flood-affected villages in the district and other necessary arrangements including food, drink and accommodation at relief camps. He said that the Punjab government is tirelessly working to provide all possible assistance to the people who are suffering from floods.
He said that the health department has made adequate arrangements for the treatment of diseases spread by water and mosquitoes. He said that more than 500 emergency response teams have been deployed in the state. He said that medical camps are being organized for the flood affected people and all necessary medicines have been made available.
On this occasion, MLA Budhlada Mr. Budh Ram, MLA Sardulgarh Mr. Gurpreet Singh Banawali, MLA Mansa Dr. Vijay Singla, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rishipal Singh, S.S.P. Dr. Nanak Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ravinder Singh, Chairman District Planning Board Mr. Charanjit Singh Akkanwali, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhuchar along with other officials and leaders were present.
